View attachment 197668 View attachment 197669 Hi, I was a trained hairdresser but never stuck at it. I do beauty and really enjoy this. My friend usually does my highlights and I do her beauty but she's away for a while traveling so I decided to go the wholesales and buy a 12-1 to go over my mousy brown hair I'm not sure what base sorry? I used this with 40 vol on the roots then combed through at the end,b I left it on the roots for a good hour and my roots just wouldn't lift! Thy are bright ginger! Maybe a tad dramatic! My beautiful highlights are now white blonde also I know the tint won't lift again as I've done a strand test and it's orange! Maybe I should of done one in the first place! Sorry geeks! Tint won't lift tint right? So! I've bought a purple shampoo which done nothing. Now I'm left with this! I was thinking maybe I could bleach my roots then purple shampoo then a ash blonde on top but would I just put the ash blonde on my roots and maybe comb through for the last five minutes or am I totally on another planet?! Any help would be great!

I think you should go to a salon

To get it done properly so your hair isn't over processed.

If I wanted to go to a salon I wouldn't of posted on here now would I?

You asked for advice. The best thing you can do for your hair is to go to a salon to get it sorted.

Not to sound too rude but I asked for advice on how to fix it myself not to go the salon

I'm a great colourist but I wouldn't try to correct that myself as I wouldn't be able to apply the product carefully enough around the back without overlapping.

You need to see a Pro to correct this for you.

Well my sis can put it on the back I just need to know what's the best way at home to do this?!

I'm pretty sure everyone on here will tell you the same as me.

Wow! Blood from a stone here ha! All I wanna know is if I do what I said I was gona do bleach roots, lift them then put a ash blonde over it? Will it go green if comb it right through? Also if this was a beauty or nails question I would be more than happy to give advice! I don't want to go to the salon, i would like to fix this myself with a extra pair of hands from my sis for the back! Thanks in advance....

You can apply bleach to your roots, however it's not going to blend into your hilights, and if you do overlap which happens as bleach swells! your hair can snap off from the root area, where the hilights start, and if you tone it down with ash, any colour that goes on your hilights will not be pretty, it's a big fix which is why everyone giving you that advice, it really needs foils of different colours to break it up, don't shoot the messenger!

If you were a knowledgeable enough hairdresser you wouldn't need advice, you'd be able to think of a suitable technique and formula for your sister to apply... If you can't then you shouldn't be doing it and you should be going to a salon.
