Is it very important to apply Glitter Powders, like Metro or The Walk of Fame, over CLEAR tips? Why are they applied over clear tips?

Can these glitter powders be applied over natural tips, white tips or even as an overlay (with no tips at all)?

Yep you can use the glitter powders on natural nails and tips.I tend to use clear tips or sculpt as you get the same colour on the underside which in mind looks soo much nicer.

yep like Dawnie said you can apply glitter powders over any type of tip or as a natural overlay
i mainly use clear/glass tips when i want to do some design work or if i want to have a clear free edge like on the pic below

just have a play and ya never know what you'll create

Like the girls have already said, glitter powders can be applied over any tip, depending what effect you want to acheive. I use them over french, clear, and natural, and also when doing natural nail overlays.
