Hi, I have an older lady who I've been tinting with 12/0 for years 75%grey and base 6_7. She came in today and wanted to go grey and mimic the greying process so it would grow out naturally but I explained she would have to have bleach and tone for the blonde she wants although she did mention lowlights with the grey colour, she has 75%throughout but 100 white hairline. My question is should I be using 7/1 to lowlight or would that go kharki, I feel like I've talked her out of what she originally wanted. Any Help would be great I make wrong decision when put on the spot. [emoji853]

I assume its wella colour you're talking about. I've just done a very similar thing to a client yesterday. I did weaves and slices of bleach, and then weaves and slices of 5.61 (not wella). But you could do something similar?
Illumina 6/16+7/81 wouod be nice as a darker sliver lowlight or colour touch 7/89. I'd still do bleach highlight. You may need to tne them afterwards depending on how the hair lifts. I was lucky and I just used violet toning shampoo yesterday and it was lovely.

Follow ronray's advice. If she wants salt and pepper I'd go with it, it'll look beautiful. Only thing is it won't totally match as it grows out (but only a hairdresser would notice) and it'll probably need retoning quite often. Good luck.

I used guy tangs dark shadows between my bleach foils for salt and pepper look

Obviously was a lot more steps involved and took 10 hours, but it worked really well for the steel grey lowlight
