Ok so I'm looking at making the plunge into mobile nails and spray tanning.
I have a full time job at present and I'm planning to do it around it but hoping to do it full time.

I've done my research and in my area the nearest mobile spray tanner to me is 18 miles away. I'm aiming to specialise in CND shellac and spray tanning with Nouvatan!,(after everyone's great reviews is Nouvatan!) I'm looking at charging £20 for shellac and £20 for a spray tan. If I do French nails or rock star I was looking at £25? Are these reasonable?

I'm going to put a leaflet and price list together shortly and I'm aiming to launch at the end of October once I've completed my cnd shellac day! (So excited!)

I'm going to talk to the local hotel that Do weddings etc, I've done my facebook page and will advertise on yell.com and maybe offer introductory prices and hope to get the Christmas trade.

I suppose I really want to know any hints or tips to go mobile, what appointment system do of you use? How much time do of you give yourself between appointments? Do you think I can survive with just shellac and tanning? (I'm attending a ccnd shellac art class too)

I'm thinking on having T.A.N tanning and nails by....
What do you think?
I'm open to any honest feedback doesn't matter what it is. I need constructive feedback please!!

I would appreciate any pointers please!
Help!

Hi

Good choices. I do the same but from a home salon and demand for Shellac is making me very busy! Spray tans not so much but I like doing them!

Your prices sound about right but you may want to add a surcharge for your travelling costs.

Also, I've had much more business from my website than Facebook. Don't forget an Instagram account either and make sure you're the best advert for your services - nice tan & perfect nails!!

I think spray tans will pick up even more in the spring and summer months! Go for it- I'm sure you will be fine and everyone loves a shellac mani- just be determined in your marketing and keep networking!

Hi.. I'm in the middle of setting up a mobile business to as was recently made redundant whilst on maternity leave!
Anyway I wants to ask how do u decide how far I will travel? What radius?

Thanks everyone! I love how helpful everyone is on here.

I've got a map of my area and I'm looking at a ten mile radius from my post code.
I've thought about even £25 for a standard Shellac colour and £28/£30 for rocks star as my area doesn't seem to have many people offering and I would be the only mobile tech offering for 20 miles. Or do you think this is too greedy?

I chose these because I enjoy these two treatments the most and can have so much fun with glitter and foils etc.

Thanks for all the hints and tips. I'm going to try pushing this lots!

If you have nobody in that radius then by all means offer Shellac at £25. I would include travel for this price. Why don't you do an opening offer - say 25% off for the first month to get a few clients in and rebooking :)

The Shellac training is fab and I love the colours! My best sellers are Tinted Love and Wildfire with Swarovski crystals. Beautiful. In the summer it was Lobster Roll and Tropix. I do a small welcome gift for new clients comprising a couple of business cards, a loyalty card, a couple of Choclates and a pinkie Solar Oil together with the Shellac aftercare guide. This goes down VERY well and sets me apart from others nearby.

Good luck!!

CeeCee thats a brilliant idea!

That's such a good little idea. I've found a couple of people in the area that are offering shellac and Jessica in salons but only two in my area but from what I can see no one offers it mobile.

I've got the app my chair on my ipad for booking in appointments and will keep a paper one two just in case. What do you guys use?
