i have used goldwell for many years . i like the colours and results also they do really good deals ie 75 tubes @ £400 plus vat , really good bleach offers buy 12 get 12 free and good quality cheap towles

Hi leah-m,

I have used Goldwell colours for about 25 years and love them. I use the cans which are very clean to work with but must be very well washed up and the cleansing pump always used.

Topchic is fab, lots of new colours coming out at moment, I am waiting for delivery of the new 'Blackened' range which looks great and some of the 'Cool Browns', which are fairly new. The Reds are great too.

They also have a lovely Demi range called Colorance which has just been re vamped to be more conditioning and I believe ammonia free, includes a classic Demi, a Grey Coverage (75%) range and a Toner range.

As Craigkeane says Mayfair academy course are brill too.

I hope you really enjoy using them.

I'm not sure if i am right but when I was at college my tutor once told me that the colour are the same for the full range so u dont need loads of different colour charts?? I may well be wrong though

Yes we have one very large colour chart that can be added to when new colours come out but now new Colorance's are out we have a separate chart has well cos there is now not enough room. Also Colorance range is much smaller than Topchic.

i'm also undecided whether to opt for the full goldwell range and keep it simple with 1 book or have the wella range with a few dif books?

Hi moobar,

When you say "book" do you mean colour chart?

I can only speak from my experience and I would say go for the range that you love and however many charts come with that so be it - Really 2 charts at most should be needed - a permanent and demi - on the Goldwell chart you can pull off the swatches and put them against, hair skin and face which I love.

Yes sorry I mean chart
Being able to take the colour out of the chart is defo a real plus point....
I've not used Goldwell but heard a lot of good reports on this colour so I was going to try it? I'm used to wella and have no probs with this..

Hi

I've used Goldwell colour for a while now and really like it . I know it might sound daft but I feel confident using this brand . You know what your getting for your money. The RR reds are very good, hi lifts great can be a little warm . The rich browns are fab leave hair in great condition and very shiny . Love bleach too .

Not as keen on Goldwell styling products thou .. does any one else find them a bit underwhelming ?

I love tigi styling products esp the S factor spray when straightening.

Yes, capacape, I agree, I do not use any styling products in Goldwell, though they also own KMS which I have heard is fab, but have never tried.

I love Biolage by Matrix for styling, and shampoo and conditioner, both in Salon and retail. All their new stuff is sulphate and paraben free, and Delicate Care is Certified organic, I think the whole range is heading in that direction, which I like.

Tigi is good but where I am it is completely over exposed, and it will also be in the Tesco salons which I must admit puts me off.

oh I didn't know that AL? thanks for the heads up, think I may well have to reconsider....

where do you get matrix from?

I get my Matrix from Aston & Fincher and they do Moroccan Oil too - which is a wonder product for me.

But please do really think about about your products before committing, it is such a massive investment and if it turns out wrong for you and you need to change it is very costly, and unsettling for your clients.

so how does the goldwell number system work as its not like wella?

Hi Craig,

I understand that but what is the .rr?

Hi Craig,

I understand that but what is the .rr?

Double red. The primary tone and the secondary tone are red, so it is more vibrant. The Goldwell reds are fab! :)
