Any help appreciated.

Hi Sam. I use Nikon coolpix 2200 digital camera. It has zoom and easy editing on the computer. It cost me about £120.00 at John Lewis. Check out my nail art site for the quailty of my camera.

I hope that you find something suitable for yourself and your nails lol

Hi there,

How much does a Canon A75 cost.

How many pixels does it have and can you zoom with it.

Asda had a Fuji one at the weekend for £99. 3 megapixel and a zoom lens xx

I would also recommend a canon... I've had my digital ixus for four years now , and it is still fabulous, I'm going to upgrade it now ready for christmas just to have even better pixels..(but even now the older one does take great pictures!) Really good value for money and not big!!

Hi Sam,
If you are going to be using to take pictures of nails, Go for one with a Macro
mode on it they make the pic's look so much clearer.

Hello, I'm no expert but I think I know enough to help out here!

Basically, you need to have at least a 3 megapixel if you want to use it for 6x4 pics and uploading pics, if you want to start blowing up your pictures or want to have them printed a larger size you need to go for a higher megapixel.
Also, I would only stick to proper camera makes if you know what I mean, such as Kodak or Fujifilm as then you know these will make a good camera as this is their only business. I find with general makes, such as panasonic, goodman, philips etc etc, they spread themselves too thinly, which means they make a wide range of products (tvs, microwaves, hi-fis, cameras) which are good, but they don't seem to make anything extraordinary (they don't specialise in any one area). Of course, there is one exception and that is Sony, who really do seem to be good at everything! There is always one! LOL! Just my little opinion!

Anyway, hope this helps, good luck and have fun once you have got one!

weve just got a Fujifilm finepics 7000 and its awesome!! has a macro focus down to 1cm and up to 12 million pixels!! did cost a bit of dosh at £370 for the bundle including 128meg memory card, tripod, case, charger and batteries (a must) its not a tiny little thing either, look like david bailey (whos he?lol) can get good deals at www.fotosense.co.uk saved a couple of hundred quid there and they have got other bargains if thats too expensive! hth

Oh, by the way, I never said which one I had! LOL! I've got the Kodak DX6340, and I love it, it has optical and digital zoom (god knows what the difference is!), easyshare (which really is easy!), 3.1 megapixels, kodak colour science, SD memeory card and loads of other things that I ain't got a clue about! It does me well!

The thing I like best about all Kodak digital cameras is the software that comes with them, it is soooo easy to use, even a 2 year old could use it!

Everyone has a favourite camera. I love mine, it's a Ricoh Caplio RR120. Because it's not such a 'known' brand (although it is withtin photography circles) I got quite a lot of camera for my money. Fantastic macro lense, 2.2 mega pixels which is perfectly good quality for printing photo size or anything for putting on the PC and a 3x optical zoom. Always go for a higher optical zoom rather than a digital zoom. However, my mum has a Sony CyberShot which I looooove. Hers is a 5 mega pixel and the thing I really like about it is that it takes great pics indoors in low light, so if you're taking pics in the evening when all you have is indoor lighting.
The best thing to compare cameras is try and find a website that has examples of the pictures that the camera can take and see what you think. If you want to take nails pics, go for a camera that works well with indoor light and has a macro lense.

sort of on this subject - i have a fuji digital camera (can't remember the spec or name!) but the quality is good. what is the best way of taking piccies of nails...i've got the macro mode but do you turn the flash off so you don't get a 'reflection' or what? any tips would be fab! thanks

Hi Dianne,
I'd say, turn the macro on, the flash off, and make-sure the whole area is well lit to compensate for no flash. If you're lighting the area use a halogen or daylight bulb to avoid the picture looking too yellow, or take your pics outside if you can :)
Lol x
