No one is going to recommend a box dye. We don't use them as the are unreliable and unprofessional. The colour isn't tailored to you it's a 'one size fits all' therefore I rarely goes the colour you're hoping for and normally looks very patchy. They can also be very damaging.
I'm afraid the only advice you are going to get will be to go to a salon. Or to go to a college where it's a fraction of the price. If you use a box dye you will spend more in the long run getting it fixed. Sorry that this isn't what you want to hear xx

Going into a training salon is about the same price as 2 boxes of colour. I'm training and a full head colour is £15. No ones going to recommend you a box colour as you will absolutely not get the result you're hoping for.xx

Wouldnt know what to use even if i thought it was a good idea. Our knowledge is with the colours we trained with

is that second colour classed as chocolate or is it more on the medium brown side

To the op, why bother asking us? Why would we want to give you the benefit of the trainning we paid and worked for. Slap any box of color you want, you'll end up with the same crappy results.

2 boxes for a 5er! That's a bargain! When your hairs not the colour you want tho you've gotta go spend another 5er on another 2, then it'll be too dark so you'll have to spend £10 on a box of stripper then you'll try again at a 5er a pop, honestly now save yourself the bother and go get it done in a college (mines charges about £10 from what I remember) they use professional colours so their great for your hair and the tutors will pick the exact right colour out for you, we can't give you advice on the best box dye because litterally not one professional hairdresser ever uses them.

I think it's safe to say the OP now realises the hair professionals who use this site cannot offer any advice so far as attempts at home colouring are concerned.

OP, if you're budget is limited, then a local college is the next best thing that can be suggested, since students are supervised and the costs are discounted.

As this is a site for professionals it is against site rules to recommend over the counter products. To this end I shall close the thread.
