hi

im a beauty geek not hair but i got a question.

i used to be able to go up to 4 days without washing my hair but nowadays it gets really greasy quick.
by the 2nd day its too greasy and no way would I be able to wear it down.
Im currently using alberto balsam (i think thats how you spell it). I do wear hairspray and i straighten my hair with ghd's.

is there anything i can do to help with this problem or any treatments i can do to my hair.
this might sound really stupid but someone told me to wash my hair with fairy liquid, dont know if they were taking the mick out of me.
i just dont have enough hours in my week to wash my hair everyday as I work shifts, long days and am always busy.

It sounds to me as if you have product build up on the hair and need a build up removing shampoo, most shop braught products and sprays etc cause build up, I would recomed buying a product removing/clarifying shampoo, this should remove the build up. Why not nip to a salon and buy some professional shampoo, tigi do the 750mil shampoos and conditioners for a good price. You will notice your hair and scalp will be much better with a professional range. And you only need a very small amount each shampoo, so they will last you much longer aswell, Hope this helps xx

Redken do an oil detox range which really helps people with oily hair.

At a guess it is probably your shampoo not getting it properly clean and leaving residue.

A shampoo that has lemon in it will help x

Try to not (or put less) conditioner on your scalp and at the roots... This hair doesn't generally need conditioning very much x

i find that when i use g.h.ds on a daily basis, with the heat protectors that i use and the heat from the ghds my hair can be greasy after one day. maybe that could be the problem?

Maybe it is the hairspray making your hair greasy??? Cos I find that when I straighten my hair with hair irons, and then I put any hair product into my hair afterwards, my hair tends to get greasy quicker. Try to use as little as possible hair spray or spray it atleast 30cm away from your hair. Also I know this may sound stupid but try cleaning the irons on your GHD with a damp cloth once in a while.

my fringe area of my hair gets like this. I put batiste dry shampoo around this area even tho I have just washed it. It seems to stop it getting greasy, and I top up with a little more if I need to xx

hi

so, i bought tresemme build up shampoo and conditioner and I cant say ive noticed a differrence, in fact its proberbly getting worse.

I washed my hair sunday night by monday night it looked a mess and when I woke this morning (tuesday) its stuck to my head like i havnt washed it in a week.

someone said maybe im lacking in some sort of vitamin or something, I am currently on medication but this started before then.

ive tried no condiotner at all, conditioner on the tips only, no ghdS!!!, no hairspray just wearing the hair down and still no different.

the pressure of my shower is not the strongest and wonder if im not rinsing thoroughly enough so have tried keeping my hair under the running water for longer.

i just feel at a loss and dont know what else to do, my main job is at the airport where i can start work at 5 am so its impossible to wash my hair everyday as i just dont have the time, and if it meant having decent hair all the time meant washing it everyday i would have to get up at 5 am even on my days off in time to get it washed and dry in time for the day, lol....

Honestly, try redken oil detox. It really does work.

is your hair really fine? i find greasy hair tends to be more frequent in fine hair. Also meds do affect the hair follical, but to be fair greasy hair is really good for the scalp as it allows the natural oils that have been excreted to protect the scalp! IMO you should invest in professional products or go to pharmacy if this persists, for a stronger grade shampoo/conditioner xoxo
