Hi there, iv snuck through from 'The Nail' forum hope you don't mind?

I have a question re my hair, iv always had greasy hair and so find myself washing it every day. If I don't I can literally feel a film on my hair from my roots to about half way down.
I have a short inverted bob which I find easier to manage.
If I wash it every other day I don't feel happy with the way my hair falls, seems to cling! I'm using herbal essences clarifying shampoo and a tea tree conditioner which cleans my hair lovely, but since colouring my hair im using the herbal Essenes for coloured hair which I find isn't cleaning it as well.
I realise by washing it every day I'm creating more oil but I simply can't walk around feeling like I could fry eggs on my head!

2 words......dry shampoo!

Ok I have oily hair also always have but I wash my hair twice a week and use dry shampoo inbetween ( love my dry shampoo),

by washing it you are stimulating the sebaceous glands oil production,

you need to dich the herbal essences straight away and get some professional products I cant say exactly what you need but your hairdresser should be able to recommend something to suite. Hope this helps :-D

You mean that spray stuff? If so iv tried that and it simple doesn't clean my hair!

dry shampoo will not make you feel like you have washed your hair but will absorb the oil ,you will be too used to the feel of newly washed hair :-D

Not a hair geek... But seriously... Step away from the super market shampoo! It's the equivalent of eBay enhancement products :p

It doesn't clean it, just masks the grease. By doing this and reducing how often you wash your hair and stimulate your scalp you reduce the grease. I washed my hair everyday, sometimes twice, since middle school and now wash it twice a week. The less you wash it, the less you have to wash it and dry shampoo helps a lot.

Precisely :-D

Ditch the icky supermarket plastic and get some decent salon shampoo. Firstlly you need to use a cheleating shampoo to get rid of the silicone build up, the use something more suited to your hair.
Go in to a good salon and ask their advice - as hair products are much more prescriptive and a stylist can tell you which one would be best suited to your hair.
Honestly you wont look back!

Wow thanks so much for the advice, I have a mobile hair dresser, so I shall ask her the questions and ask if she can retail me good shampoo & conditioner as well as this dry shampoo x
