Hey im a guy, I been honoured to have red hair whole my life but it changes color depending wheather, if its cold its more darker, different light for my hair looks always different color .. its weird! sometimes people say im strawberry blonde, sometimes im so red that can belive it.

Im looking to get the first option, get my hair more blonde or loose the orange in my hair would be best option. What are my options ?

I don't just wanna buy haircolor and dye it, I hope I can get my solution with you guys. HELP HELP HELP!

I added few pictures from my hair and color and lights how it affects.

The most annoying part is that sometimes I meet a girl and I have really blonde hair, hardly can see any orange and the other day im so orange that cant belive it. I don't know why, I want it to stay without so much orange, I hope you know how to help me get this orange out :)

WoW it sure does change throughout the day! The thing is that you would have to color it frequently keeping it so short. I'm guessing you go get your 1-3 taper back + sides, natural neckline, scissor cut to 1" on top or a #8 guard on top every 6-8 weeks & this is how it has been since you were a child & your mother kept it longer before you could protest!
Good news is you suite both blonde or a med brown(I would go no more than a level 5 ash/natural brown to cut the red) a brown commonly called possum brown or hamster brown.
Are you thinking of going to a salon or doing it yourself?

I would like to find a way to do it myself at home ...

im a real amateur to find what I need to buy for that... yeh and it really sucks sometimes it changes all in one day so fast, I have a friend he calls me chameleon man .. ha :D

im hoping to get answers for what I need to buy, products to keep most natural looks still. xxx

yhanks xx

Unfortunately, our hair geeks are not allowed to give detailed and technical information to non professionals, particularly when it comes to attempts at home colouring.

A visit to your local hairdresser for a consultation would perhaps be the best advice we can give you.

what you are trying to say to me is coloring is the only option ?

there must be any other ways to get the orange out not only coloring.
I ended up googleing all sort things, bleaching, naturally lighten hair etc more and more info. But im sure you guys know the answer that's why I came here the first place. Why giving advice to someone is so limited here. Im not gonna judge anyone if I screw something up to come and blame allyas. I need advice only from you, what would you do ?

Hiya Red,

Whatever you decide to do, you need to think about maintenance. As your hair is very short, any re growth will look obvious within about 2 weeks.

As a colourist, I can advise that naturally red hair is the most difficult to lighten because the red pigment is usually very saturated within the hair cortex.

Virtually everyone has a mix of yellow, red, brown and black pigments in their hair. As a natural red head, you will have a much bigger ratio of red pigment than a natural brunette or blonde person has.

If you attempt to change your hair colour using drugstore generic products, you're likely to end up with a very un-natural looking result as they're manufactured on a 'one size fits all' basis.

If you want to investigate your options further, visit a really good colourist who knows their stuff and see what they advise.

Hope this has given you some useful help?

Leave it.........no idea why you would want to 'remove' such a stronge statement hair colour!
I'm obviously bias, you can guess why by my 'REDSTAR' tag.
It looks great, and how cool the way it changes with the seasons!

I will go to salon and give it one shot, if I don't like it I cut my hair ...

but I wanna try something, not changing everyday hair - how does it´feel when youre same color in the morning and whole day. heh

I try to post the results here after :)
