Hair Advice!

Hey,
So I am not a professional I am just a consumer asking for help about a new hair cut and color

Currently my hair is extremely long (A little past my waist) and also dark brown that goes into blonde ends (ombre) Here is a picture of it:

I have really been thinking that I wanted to cut it and maybe even donate it. I really need opinions on what length would look good on me (shoulder length,rib length, etc.) or if I should leave it at its long length.

The last opinion I need is, I would like to get highlights in my hair and I wanted to know if something like a balayage ombre would look good

Balyage would look lovely in your hair. If it was me I would cut off the current lighter pieces because there's so little of it looks a bit odd. I also think a side fringe and some shorter pieces to frame your face would look really nice.
