Hello,

I am on the beauty side so don't know a massive amount about hair BUT my hair has really bad breakage about 4 - 5 inches from my root.

I have really minimised my heat products and am using a Goldwell product which is meant to help but it looks and feels horrible. I have always had my hair coloured (am a 6R, 6%) and have this done every 5 - 6 weeks, but it has never EVER gone like this - any help PLEASE?

Have you tried and deep nourishing treatments?

Theres a nioxin deep repair hair masque which is fab! Helps to prevent hair breakage, if theres a local wella salon to you they should stock it for you!

Hth. :)

Is your natural hair colour much lighter/darker than the 6R you have on it?

Do you have more than 50% grey hair?

Are you using straighteners or a wand at a high temperature or do they not have a temperature range on them?

Is your hair coarse or fine?

What shampoo & conditioner do you use?

Sorry for the barrage of questions but it might help us to work out possible causes for your breakage problem.

Oooh I have the exact same problem :( I feel your pain. Watching this thread as I'd love to hear an answer other then deep treatments and cutting lol I'm treating, but trying not to cut...hoping a miracle answer comes along! X

Its always best to figure out the cause of the problem first before trying to find a solution.

For instance, if you add too much protein, it can cause breakage. Its not always just about using too much high heat.

Thats why I asked lots of questions. :)

Which goldwell product are you using?

I am using Dualsenses rich repair - my straightners are on less than 120 temperature, and have been turned down for ages - I don't like to see smoke coming from my hair!

I have never had this, even when I was blonde and need something to make it better and to repair the existing breakage.

I went to my wholesalers yesterday and the lady recommended "La Brasiliana" all in one hair treatment. I used it this morning, it really does feel nice and I curled some of my hair and it isn't going frizzy, it feels really sleek.

It's on offer from £10 (just under) to £5.00 ish.

Does anyone use this product or brand?

Are you having 6r and 6% applied all over your hair every 5-6 weeks or just the roots? X

You might not get a reply if she taking the advice above and colouring her own hair 🙈
