Hey guys, popped over from beauty and need some advice on my hair.

I currently have a natural dip dye going on as iv not coloured my hair in nearly 2 years as I'm trying to grow it all out. I only wash it every second day and hardly ever straighten it and get a dry trim evry 6 weeks.

I can see especially around the front especially the hair around the side of my head has started to break off a bit and hard to believe as I take such good care of it. It's gotten thicker as a result and a lot better condition because of that. Is there any treatments that I can use that might help?

My hair is very fine so that's what I put the breakage down to?

Any suggestions would be brilliant , thanks!

If your hairs gotten thicker it could be new growth rather than breakage

Yes that could be it actually as under my fringe area and to the side it's like baby hair. Although the hair I pull out from ear area has snapped off a little at the ends and on one side of my fringe at the very front but just a tiny bit. Is there any products your recommend to get? I was going to switch to a silicone free shsmpoo and conditioner but wanted a good protein treatment and a moisturising one too. X

A little protien is good but too much can make the hair brittle causing it to snap further, I had a client who had lost a substantial amount of hair naturally due to illness but then this year it's growing back and is like a bed of fluffy new hair amongst her normal hair, it's great for volume tho lol your case reminded me of hers because she approached me wondering why her hair was breaking but it wasn't it was new growth, if your good with your hair (which u seem to be) then just invest in a nice salon quality shampoo, silicone isn't really such an issue unless you use Pantene lol then stop ;) I personally love goldwell dual senses at the moment the gold rich repair is lovley :) just as animals moult each season so do we I'd think it's just new growth to keep you warm :) make sure your glasses or hair bands arnt causing the snappage you mentioned even the healthiest hair can be broken by bobbles n ties

Thanks for that. Is there any protein sprays that I could maybe use like once or twice a week that u recommend? As in shampoo and conditioner I usually buy salon quality, I'm actually using nioxin at the moment to help thicken it up but don't know how much it is helping although only been using a few weeks x
