Hair colour gone wrong - need advice please!

Hi everyone,

I originally joined this site as I'm studying beauty therapy, but I need some advice on my hair pleeeeease! :cry:

I recently visited a new hairdresser and whereas I would normally have all my hair bleached to a very light blond & then a toner, the new lady recommended I have bleach on the back of my hair (where it is mid brown/reddish) & a high lift (?) on the rest of my hair, which is probably 70% grey, with flecks of blonde/sandy red.

The result was I had dark grey roots, lighter blonde on the top of my head and slightly darker blonde at the back - not a good look! She put 2 lots of toner on but it just wouldnt take, & so just charged me for the cut, as I had already spent 2.5hrs there & had to leave for another appt.

I came home and put a shop-bought honey blonde semi in my hair, which has made it slightly better, but I still have the dark grey-ish roots.

Please can someone let me know what I need to do???? :o

(ps - I dont want to rectify the problem myself, just need to know what to ask for at the hairdressers!)

any reputal hairdresser should know exactly what to do after a thourgh consultation with you.. just make sure you choose a well known good hairresser e.g a friends recomendation
