Hi there. I’m just needing some advice. My lady previously has foils with bleach and 20 vol then toned with wella colour touch 9/81 ( pic 1) as she likes her hsir very ashy. She now would like to have a ballayage (pic 2) my question is because she wants the brown more natural and not warm at all wgst colour would you suggest I use! If I use a ash brown will go green if I use a golden or red brown will be too warm. I know I could pre pig but might be hard to pre pig the root then to go over the exact same sections with the dark color
Thanks

Creating an super ashy base with any colour without it looking flat/khaki is pretty difficult especially when covering blonde. You can tell the bottom photo has some warmth. Here is a root stretch I did similar using wella colour touch in 5/0 and 6/37.

Perfect thsvks so much. Do you apply your colour touch on wet or dry hsir x

Defo Illumina - 6/16 maybe some 5 - no khaki at all and I use them on a daily basis. I never use warmth on a root stretch

The /97 would be perfect for this pic too. 5/96 in 7/97 and 9/97

I’ve never tried illumina. Im a bit of a scaredy-pants with colours lately. I panic with any colour thst has ash in it going on blonde will go khaki

Illumina is lovely, and I'm sure I was told by education team that you don't need to pre pig
If not 7/97 CT is lovely 1.9%

It doesn’t honestly try it once and you will be addicted.

Ok I’m going to put my faith in you guys and try illumina 6/16 I’ll add some 5/0 to it to give it some depth too!!!! I feel I just need help with colours at the moment!!!
My lady who I scalp bleach her mids and ends are very very blonde!!! Prob a very clean 10 if not lighter. no warmth at all. Her roots on the other hand lift to a very golden warm 9!!! My question is I know my basics to strip out yellow/orange you need to use a blue violet so I used wella 10/8 with pastel msybe I should of used a 10/86. I just worry if I go down to a 9 it will darken it. I’m just over thinking everything right now. But thankyou so much Essex freelance for your help and advice. It really is greatly appreciated

If your only lifting to a 9 then you tone with a 9. The ends might be lighter due to over lap?

With scalp bleaches I apply LOADS of product, mix it accurately, reapply twice and develop 50mins

Hi this might not help as I don’t use Wella, so I know shades ect can vary but when I do root drag on blonde shades that don’t want warmth I use xp1000 shade 6.13 mixed with 5.0 or 4.0 depending on how dark they want it, I find it blends ashy but without the karki! X

I think this is my trouble I’m not leaving it on long enough. I had a bad experience in a salon about 10 years ago. We had a goldwell colour technician come in to give up some advice on full head bleach. She told us to pack the bleach right in on the root to give it a better lift!!! Which it did but when I rinsed it off my lady’s hair was falling out in clumps!!!! The technician didn’t know what to say or do. Was horrible

O no! That’s is true tho tho pack the bleach on to give lift but that isn’t the reason the hair will fall out itll he because of over lap or existing damage
