Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could help me out as i dont really no where to start and know you guys are full of great advice.
I would really love to do a hair course. Im 25 and work part time (5days a week) and was just wondering about courses.
I would like to go on a vcourse where you dont have to work in a salon as a junior.
Iv called the local college however they have said i would need to work in a salon.
Im a qualified beauty therapist so i understand the importance of gaing experience however i really cant afford to give up my job and go on such a low salary, so really i was just wondering if there were any good courses out there which i could fit around my current job. oh and i live in essex.
Thanks in advance.

No it's not compulsory that you work in a salon as very few of my students do. In an ideal world working in a salon does give you hands on experience how ever a lot of colleges don't request that you must. I'd speak to the hairdressing tutor in your local college and state that you have a job but wish to learn hairdressing and see what they say if not try another college. I do know that they can't refuse you on that technicality and its against the law to withhold access to further educational learning.
