hi all, so my friends daughter phoned me up today, and asked if i was able to look at her hair and give her some advise. she had gone to a local salon and from what i can gather(what she told me) they used a cap with bleach, unsure of what vol. they washed that off and applied another lot of bleach then put her under the heater!!
so her hair is in so bad condition and has breakages here there and everywhere. its all multi-toned. (brown, orange, pink, yellow) i was disgusted that they would let her walk out like it and they told her it looked nice.?!
so i advised her the best thing to do would be to have a good cut to chop off all the dead and conditioning treatments.
she said she is going back to the salon that did it in the morning to ask for her money back and she doesnt want them to try and rectify it. and is considering legal action.!
is there anything else she could do, what would you all recommend.
she was in tears nearly when she realised how much was dead and broke.

Hi Just wondering why a cap was used ?

I have a cap in the back of the cupboard it hardly sees the light of day ,
except for just 2 times in extreme cases over a ten year period
eg ... unfortunately this year my relative had a car crash and couldn't sit in her wheelchair for more than ten mins) I had to most of the work with going though the awful highlighting cap procedure sitting on her bed with her Lol

Anyways in this day and age everyone I thought everyone was professionally trained up to the usual foiling standards,

Can as a hairdresser you tell us a bit more about the hair in question ? as its really hard to imagine without seeing it first hand iykwim

was there any colour on it to start with or was it natural ?
What was she aiming for ?
Is it quite long hair ? or is it shortish ?
What was the condition like before the procedure ?
Was it some sort of colour correction?
Did you ask if her if the salon or hairdresser in question had done some bleach test pieces on her hair first ? ....

hi thanks for the reply.
i have no idea why they used a cap, i personally never do. i have 2, like yourself sitting in the back of my drawer never been touched.
i never seen her hair recently so unsure of the condition beforehand but it was just below shoulder length and was around a base 5 (dyed not natural) and she wanted to go back to blonde..
no they didnt strand test it first,
they just wanted to rush her out the door after they'd finished.
