Hair dye

Hello, wondering if anyone could help...

I’ve currently been experimenting with hair dye, and trying to get an ombré look. I have a dark brown natural hair and I have already put on a L’Oreal ombré box dye and it looked great but it’s starting to fade. I’ve put another box on and the middle of my hair is very blonde and the ends are still quite brown? I’ve made sure to cover the ends fully with dye but they aren’t taking much colour. Any advice?
