so i take my friends daughters hair extensions out. she only had them a week but the extensionist had put the blonde in with black micro rings and knotted her hair at each ring. so i take them out n they have washed awful. full of knots. how can i get the knots out without taking away half the hair from the weft? i was supposed to put them back in for her and she just used her savings to have them done so i doubt she has money for new hair. any advice would b great :)

Try lots of conditioner and do it in tiny sections, if the hair is so badly knotted after 1 week sounds like it is very bad synthetic or non human remy hair. :(

what kind of brush or comb? my loop brush is useless x

i agree with the previous post - sounds like cr*p hair.

You could try morroccan oil and comb through with a wide tooth comb but its unlikely you will restore it to any kind of decent condition.

Has your friend contacted the person who installed them? It may just be a faulty batch of hair in which case she needs to be made aware before using it on anyone else. She should also offer to replace the hair.

I dont think its remy. She booked in for me to fit hers then went on hols....had them done on holiday. Came back upset so i took them out.

If it was anyone else id prob not bother but shes my friends daughter. She was just impatient I guess. Ill try the oil and wide tooth comb tomorrow. What a nightmare. If im honest I dont like doing extensions anymore. I hardly advertise :( silly me really. Where can I get a decent weft of hair. I hate saying cheap but I cant afford to replace it for her and i guess on her waitress job on a saturday she wont be able too??

Have you ever heard of the hair extension combs, they are around £12 and sold in salons and online. They comb the hair without pulling any of the hair out! well recommended for hair extensions. all hair extensions need plenty of conditioner to give the Natural look as they hair will not be provided with Natural oils like your own! hope this is some help for you. Good luck

I always use foxy hair extensions for clients on a really tight budget, its the best i've found in that kind of price range or you could try American Dream thermofibre hair, its synthetic but can be treated the same as natural hair (apart from colouring) and stays looking good for quite a while.

A natural bristle brush will work well for you.

Balmain do an excellent extensions brush, and also about £5 in Sallys which I think is a brill price :D
