Well there has been many post lately on extensions and I would like to know your thoughts on pre bonds or micro rings? And why you like either one or both methods.

Thanks geeks xx

Hiya :D

I am still very new to the extension side of things, but so far I prefer the micro rings.

Quick and easy to apply with no damage to the natural hair...although any method, if applied and removed correctly, should not cause damage to the natural hair.

Also easier to maintain and remove.

These are my opinions anyway, like you say...would be good to hear from others.

What method do you prefer? :)

hi,
It just doest make good business sense to only offer 1 method, or even 2,its best to offer them all, each client has diffrent needs, for instance, if you only offered micro ings, and you did a consultation on a client with realy fine hair, youre not going to be able to go ahead with the fitting, so youre then losing out on business, different strokes for different folks : )

resin bonds all the way.

If I was forced to choose between pre bonds and micro rings, prebonds are much safer.

I am seeing real problems with microrings at the moment. Wearing non precious metal on the skin for any length of time is always gonna throw up problems.

Hiya,

I agree with you that 1 method would not be suitable for all clients and therefore not best practice to only offer one...but the OP was just asking for an opinion on which of these 2 methods others preferred.

Sas :)

I'm starting my extension course tomorrow so I was just interested in other opinion as their have been a lot of topics on extensions lately.

I will be learning micro rings and pre bonds (inc mini):D

I would like to learn wefts too as i'm sure I read somewhere for girls with long hair that want more volume this is the best method??? could be wrong though?

it's with lush-us

I'm noticing a trend at the mo that a lot of people are choosing microrings as they believe that bonded extensions 'wreck your hair'. Obviously i do my best to educate my clients on the inaccuracy of this belief but many of them just won't budge. Personally i blame youtube for all the horror videos that are posted on there!.
In answer to your question I would say that while microrings are quicker and easier to install I find that I spend a lot of time afterwards travelling to clients in order to re-install the odd few that have come out, whereas i just don't get this with the bonded extensions - can't wait till i've got my salon up and running, at least then they will be travelling to me instead :D
