Hair falling out after car accident

Just after some advice or maybe answers as I'm stumped! My sister was in a car accident a few months ago in which she broke her neck and had to have surgery for 15 hours... Very lucky to be alive! Anyway, about a monto after the accident, she has gained about 3 bald patches around the back of her head? Theres one strip as if someone has gone up the back of her head with a razor but she asked her surgeon when she went in for a checkup and they didnt have to cut her hair. She had to wear a neck brace for 6 weeks and thought that it may have rubbed but it's no where near where the brace was. Will try and post pics when I get to my computer. Do you think this may be stress related? The hair has started to grow back but very finely.... Almost like baby hair.

Has anyone seen something like this before?!

It's sounds like alopecia and is most probably stress related-my sister has suffered with it since she was 6 or 7 and still gets patches now and she's 23. She always finds a new patch in times of stress. It will grow back xxx

Definitely looks like alopecia...doctors prescribe shampoos and creams but to be honest if it's stress related then not a lot helps and it will naturally restore itself in time xx

Defo alopecia, a huge shock will cause it. No ointments will work, but time will, not much help I know. She's been through a massive deal, not just the accident, the op, the recovery. Very lucky lady x

I don't know if you can order this in the UK, but there's something called Hairtopia. It's a supplement that I took when my hair all broke off and fell out after a round of intense antibiotics in the hospital. It grew my hair like 2 inches a month. it was INSANE.

2 inches a month?! May have to invest in some myself!! I have very slow growing hair and it's a nightmare! I will certainly look into it... Thanks for your post xxx
