Just wondered if anyone could give me advise please why 7n matrix tint with 3% peroxide is not giving full coverage on the hair. It was done in foils over the top of the previous foils I did in the same shade 8 weeks ago. But this time the foiled pieces almost look tiger print striped as if the colour hasn’t worked in places and patchy
Many thanks

if the hair is 100% grey your better off using matrix dream.age for a full coverage x

Hi Thanks for reply the clients hair isn’t grey I just painted over hair that had faded that I’d used the 7n shade on 8 weeks ago it’s normally ok just off that it happened.

your probably better at colouring than me ‍♀️ But I know somethimes it can be to do with product build up maybe unless you have used too much peroxide xx

If you keep re-applying permanent colour, you’ll end up with dull dry hair. Some people use a permanent colour on the root regrowth and then spray water on to dilute the product and emulsify the colour into the rest of the hair for the final 10 minutes. However, you don’t need to use a permanent tint on already coloured hair so I’d generally use a demi or semi instead such as Matrix Color Sync. Obviously, you can’t dilute tint with water if it’s an oil based tint.

Are you definitely applying plenty of colour? And is the hair porous? Sometimes I find porous hair does this, maybe apply something to even out porosity?

Like haircutz said its permanent colour on top of permanent.

You can mix up your 7n and just apply to the root area in the foil, and match it up in semi for the ends.

It sounds like this is why its happening, i doubt its your technique if youve done here hair before and it looks good x
