Can anyone advise me where i can get the colour spot patch tint testers from please.

I'd check with your insurance before using these as not all insurance company's will cover you using these. X

What are they??? Never heard of them :o/

i always thought it voided your insurance if you patch tested with anything other than the brand you are going to use ?

I just do then using my own stuff. Be wasting money on them as they'll probably charge p&p ontop too x

TO correct the incorrect information posted here, Colourstart carries it's own £1m insurance protects salons against product failure.

Fab news, will certainly help us freelancers x

Colourstart tests are fab especially for mobile stylists as you can pop one in the post to clients!!
The only point i feel worth raising is when buying check the date on them DONT buy too many at one time as they do have a USE BEFORE date

Sorry to bring the negative comment but I'm still not convinced? and as has been discussed before clients could be allergic to one element of hair colour or even brand but not another.
So for example, you wouldn't test a client with a dark colour when her normal colour is a light blonde or red?
As far as I can make out from the colourstart website, just buying colourstart doesn't guarantee £1m insurance, I think that if you buy business insurance from 'willis' they will cover you, not sure about this - but would be worth getting concrete confirmation before you rely on their insurance as quoted by an unknown bod calling themselves 'colourstart' on an open forum?:(
will it cover ANY reaction to ANY colour as long as a patch has been sent to a client and 'hopefully' they've applied it correctly?
too many 'ifs' for me i'm afraid i'm sticking to the traditional method of patch testing with the brand and colour the client is having.:irked:

Insurance is straight forward, here is some text supplied by the insurers...

"“Whilst you may be concerned about using Colourstart due to an exclusion in your insurance policy that states that you will not be covered for any bodily injury caused by use of any hair colorant unless you use the manufacturers own testing system, please be assured that if your salon’s insurers don’t respond then Colourstart’s will. The Colourstart product is insured by Chubb Insurance Company of Europe SE, one of the largest insurance Companies in the World, and, provided you have followed the correct testing regime for the product, should you have any claims relating to an allergic reaction to the application of any manufacturers hair colorant, cover would be provided this insurance policy.”.
