Hairdressers in York?

Hi Hair Geeks,
I'm popping over from Nails, because today I returned from yet another disappointing hair appointment. I have lived in York for nearly 3 years and tried various salons and I am yet to walk away with what I want. I have requested consultations beforehand and paid for restyles yet I still walk away feeling like nothing's being done.
I would love to have an ombré or balayage but if I can't find somebody to cut my hair how I'd like then surely I can't trust them to colour?

Can anybody recommend anyone? I don't mind if it's a salon or mobile just so long as they'd listen? Thanks in advance.

.ps. I always go in armed with pictures yet still nothing!
