Hi everyone!
The line of products I use has only one hard gel product. As in, there is no 'base' gel that is then followed by a stiffer structure gel. And this particular product is very self leveling. Is there an easy way to create an apex on a flat nail with a self leveling product or, is it simply a matter of applying more layers for strength?
Thank you muchly :)

Hi! I use CND Brisa gel and it doesnt come with a "base gel", other than normal prep (cuticles, cleansing the nail plate, removing shine, etc.) it only has brisa bond which is a nail primer/bonder. Once that is applied and cured, I use the self levelling gel and apply a thin base layer over the entire nail.

Ill try my best to describe this as I dont have pictures, but once the base layer is cured, I pick up a scoop of gel and place it in the stress area of the nail, and then pull it over the tip of the nail to create an arch. i then use my brush to push the product down towards the cuticle and then feather it to both sidewalls, gently pulling little strings of product back and forth to fill in any low spots, then cure under the lamp! How much product you use to create the arch depends on the length of the nail, and also the amount of arch in the natural nail. The less natural arch, the more product that must be used. Hope this helped a little bit!

You may find you need to do one nail at at time, place the gel where you want it as per Chris's advice above then turn the finger over for a few seconds to increase the volume where you've placed it, then either flash cure for 10/15 seconds or full cure (depends on if you're confident to swap between hands whilst one cures)
