Has anyone ever had a bad experience with bleach

I’m just curious Hun. I don’t really like doing it if I’m being honest!!!! Years and years ago I did have a bad experience and since then it’s scared me. I used to do a lady thst was a 11n goldwell high lift tint. She loved it. But one time we had a teacher come to the salon from goldwell to train us and she suggested doing a full head bleach on her and to pack the bleach right in at the root and leave for a hour!!! It was loveky looked clean blonde!!! She assured me she was able to come every 6 weeks for the root application of bleach and to pack it right in. So 6 weeks later I did just thst. Only applying to the root and not overlapping the bleach on the previous bleached hsir. Took her to the basin to shampoo and her hsir was falling out in my hands it was awfull. Ever since then I’ve been so scared of it. I don’t like to leave it too long ect

Hmm I'm wondering if there was an underlying problem that you weren't aware of beforehand. I have never seen someone's hair come out just from a root touch up, especially as you said there was no overlap. How did the client take it when she discovered her hair had come out?

I have no idea. We went back to high lift tint after thst and it was fine. She was obv very upset but she had been a loyal regular client of mine for years. I got her in twice a week for conditioning treatments and gave her lots of products to take home. I just hate using it it scares me so much

I wonder if you used 12% with bleach as that was more common a few years ago and obviously isn’t necessary these days? Modern formulas are very good and I’d nearly always choose bleach & tone over a highlift tint.
