Hi ya
I used to use Calgel and to be honest I have since switched over to IBD which is fantastic.
Calgel is very expensive you get a teaspoon of product - and I am being serious and it costs you around £16 plus VAT, and don't forget the postage.
Product is really rubbery, and thick looking. It is ok for overlays, but the infills are huge as product so thick and when you try and file it down it either doesnt do much as its so spongy or it just flakes off in lumps.
I lost a few clients through Calgel as the results were dodgy, mainly due to the fact that when you sculpt it really is rubbery, and after about five days the sidewalls give way through repetative bending.
Better off using a buff off gel system, it's much stronger, and more natural looking. If in the right hands no damage will be done to the nail.
Hope this helps
