 Hi all, not posted for ages as taken time out,got married and change of career but now moving back into nails. My profile has been updated accordingly! Been reading lots of posts with interest and getting excited about training in nails and beauty again! Anyway, i'm not sure if this is in the right place but I need help! My sis little girl accidently knocked over a bottle of acetone while her mummy was removing her varnish. only a little spilled and it was cleaned up straight away. My sis had one of those plastic thick vinyl patterned table cloths on her table (to protect it from the kids while eating drawing etc) So, as she cleared it straight away and no damage seemed to be done she thought nothing of it. Today she removed the table cover cloth and the small patch where the acetone was spilt was stuck fast to the table! (no hole in table cloth at all) she pulled it off but the pattern of the cover and fibres are stuck fast to her wooden table looks almost ingrained. Anybody have ANY ideas on how to remove it? Its an oak and maple table. Thanks for any help xx

There is no quick easy solution ... It needs a French polisher. Needs sanding, restraining and waxing or whatever finish it had before. Insurance job maybe.

I've done the same to my gorgeous black lacquered table and just put a cloth over now;my pink towel had got stuck to it I was gutted but it wasn't worth me claiming on insurance...if it's an expensive table then ring them...but there's no home solution to get rid of the mark I'm afraid acetone just eats everything :(

been googling all morning and found a site that said to lay a white paper towel over the mark on the table and briefly iron over it. keep checking until see any lift and its lifted the melted plastic and fibres off a treat. sis happy. ta for responses.

Aww well done..don't think it will work on mine but may be worth a go x Ty
