Hi to you all. A bit of advice needed please. I have a client who has bumped her Big Toe and her nail has split completely in two width way and come clean off her toe. My question is which enhancement would you sugggest I use to rebuild the nail L&P or Gel. She is wearing sandals at the momment as she is afraid to put her foot in closed shoes.

OUCH!!

From a safety point of view, it does not matter which system you use as long as you protect the nail bed from the product with either a tip or a nail form.

If you think the heat form the gel could be painful then opt for L&P. This is the choice I would make in this case.

Thanks for that Gigi :) bit of a tricky one, but there is still a bit of nail there in the cuticle area, how would I remove the form as I dont have a tip large enough as it if rather a big Big Toe and I could see a bit of space between the actual nail and nail bed

I really am curious how a tip can be fitted to a such a sensitive area ie the nail bedl? or does it desensitise the more it is exposed..

I could imagine a client thumping as I placed the tip on

To fit a tip: You can always split a tip in half with scissors. Glue it on at each side. Then fit a form and sculpt the overlay over the top. It works, and I think having some air circulating between the tip and the bed is not a bad idea. Use SolarOil underneath every day to keep soft and clean.
:) Have a good day in the sunshine state. Good to know ladies still have their prioreties right after the awful weather you have been enduring. Nails! x

My mum lost her toe nail a couple of years ago and she says it is still very painful. Her nail never grew back so its just a horrible bit of bumpy hard skin - is their anything that can be done to make this look better? She never wears open toed shoes because shes so embarassed...
