I have been doing this particular client for many years who always had foil hi lights and a colour together in the same process which took me roughly 90 mins to do...... This is a long time for me for this colour treatment.

This client has now changed her service to an all over colour..... GREY!!

My only problem is she has super thick hair and just applying a full colour takes me 90 mins, which is fine if she is just having her grey applied but when this is pre-lightened I’m having to dry it then apply the grey colour. This process is taking 4.5 hours everytime she has it done which is every other treatment.

Is there any advice on how I could make this quicker or change the way I’m doing this service??
How would you tone super thick hair?

Thanks

Are you mobile or salon based?
Why do you dry the hair to tone it?

Hi

I do it dry because the first time I did it on towel dried hair and it was so hard to apply and dried really patchy. I’m using rusk 9.111aa (think this is the colour from memory) with 3% now. I didn’t first time I used the fudge toner T11.

I’m salon based.

Thanks

Hmm that's unusual, usually it's better to tone the hair when it's towel dried. Do you mix 1:1 or 1:2?
Also something good that may speed up the process, could you ask another stylist or an apprentice/ junior to help you apply the toner? Twice as many hands, twice as fast :p
