I recently had extremely white platinum blonde hair but decided I wanted to grow it out because it was damaging it badly. Anyways, I dyed my hair a darker blonde using nice and easy champagne blonde colour leaving the roots Virgin to blend in. This was fine but faded very quickly and I had to redye after 4 weeks. My natural roots later had grew to around 3 inches and with the dark blonde almost faded back to blonde (no where near as light as before though), I wanted to do something again about the colour contrast.

So I picked up garnier nutrisse foam dye in dark blonde yesterday as the colour was exactly the one I wanted, not brown just a nice dark blonde. However when I washed the dye off I'm now a brunette with green tints at the ends!!

I freaked and knew it was because of the lack of pigment and washed my hair twice over with red toner which has seemed to work but now I have orange, red, brown and green tints in my hair!

I've since tried bicarbonate of soda and head and shoulders shampoo to try and fade the colour but it's only faded a tiny bit and left it even more green!

What can I possibly do to get rid of this?! I don't want to go darker or reapply the dye because I didn't want to be nowhere near this dark to begin with! I'm afraid if I go lighter it will go greener but if I go darker I'll look even paler and I'll never get it out to go blonde again! Aswell as this, I can't really afford to go to a professional.

Sorry for the amount of info. Can anyone help?!

Sorry I'm afraid you will have to go to a hairdresser, the reason this has happened to your hair is because you are not a hairdresser and as you can see it's not just as easy as putting another colour over other colours.

I understand you saying you cannot afford hairdressers but if you go to your local college the trainees there will sort you out under the guidance of the lecturers and it will probably work out cheaper if you add up the money wasted on these box dyes xx

Thanks for your help. Due to the weeks holiday there are no colleges doing hair that I can go to until afterwards! :(
I have found a colour remover called colour rewind which has really good reviews. It doesn't contain bleach/ammonia though. Will it work? My hair seems to be getting greener with every wash and I'm desperate!
xx

It will snap/melt your hair babe. Don't do it.
It sounds as though you just want to fling chemical after chemical on it rather than accept the best advice, which is to go to a good salon.
You CANNOT achieve an acceptable result on your own, you simply don't have the skill or knowledge. Please accept this advice in the spirit that it's given.

No wonder you can't afford a salon, with the amount of money you've spent on unsuitable products. You would have been better off going professional in the first place. You will literally have your hair on the floor if you use a colour remover.
