Not sure if you remember but i did a colour correction last week on red hair wanting to back blonde, i did a mild bleach bath up to an 8 light copper, full head foils and a colour touch 8 in between the foils. The results were ok but still very warm looking (she knew she wasn't going to get what she wanted in one step) and i wished i had put an 8/1 on instead of the 8 as it didn't seem to do an awful lot:rolleyes:

Anyway she came back yesterday and i did piggyback foils on all the copper colour remaining using bleach with 3% and a 7/1 permanent tint and 6% but you still can't see any of the 7/1, it now just looks a light strawberry blonde. What am i doing wrong and have you any suggestions??

Are you using L'oreal or Wella?

Sounds like you were not quite brave enough with the bleach bath. For coverage on a level 7 or 8 with ash, you needed to get a lot of the copper out first.
L'Oreal do green ash colours, 6.7 and 8.7 to colour correct this.

You would need to refoil again with bleach, then flood between with one of those or a mixture. If you havn't lifted enough to begin with, it maybe better to use the darker 6.7 one, as this will def kill the copper/orange. Use lots of foils to compensate for this though, as you don't want an overall darker look.

Thanks persianista, you're a star :) I use Wella but will try the L'oreal colours you mentioned and do a strand test x
