Can anyone suggest my thing to help. I banged my hand yesterday which resulted in shattering my nail right down my nail bed! :( I have a huge split that goes right acorss about halfway down the bed but it's still all in place. In fact it's quite hard to see it. It's not too painful now but I'm worried I will catch it and that will be very painful and take months to grow out. Any suggestions?

The fingernail fixer has a great solution using fiberglass and shellac....

If you don't do nails professionally:

- take a tea bag and empty the tea from it
-cut a small patch from it- enough to cover the split in your nail.
- use nail glue and add a little to the split, just a tiny amount.
- then place tea bag patch over the top ensuring it is stuck on the nail with the glue.
-gently buff the nail to remove rough glue spots
-polish as normal!

Hope this helps

No I'm not a nail tech, I do hair and make up. I have attached a pic, are you sure I'm gonna be ok to put glue in this? Won't it seep into me skin?

Ouch!!! Ummm... Maybe not! Maybe the fiberglass route! Is there a nail tech near you that does shellac? They could do it for you? Where are you based?

I couldn't find one yesterday and I was working but I managed to find time to do the old tea bag tip and its stuck for now! It did hurt a bit for a while but it's alright now! :) thank you for your advice! We'll see how long it lasts for x.

Just want to say, nail: still going strong! I've had to reapply twice but it looks fine and I haven't caught it or hurt it once 👍 whoever thought of this idea is a complete genius! And thanks again for the tip :)
