Hi everyone popped over from nails and beauty, seen an amazing hair cut and colour I'd really like. Only problem is the only hairdresser I've ever had that was able to take a pic and make it work for me and was confident it cutting and colouring left the industry 3years ago. I've since struggled with finding a hairdresser I'm happy with.

So basically I want to know how do I go about asking if they can do this style and it won't be yet another disaster!

My hair is slightly darker than this at the roots, but more than long enough (touching my bra strap!)

That looks like a balayage technique to me.

Ask your friends/colleagues or anyone you spot out & about (who has a great hair colour) for their recommendations.

Take your picture along and ask for a consultation. Make sure they offer you a skin test prior to your appointment.

Thank you I just have such a disaster with picking hairdressers! Never get the cut even with pictures and I struggle finding someone who understands colouring! None of my friends have colours ( well one but they over processed her hair and it all fell out ) I'll start inspecting peeps while shopping lol!

I agree with Haircutz advice. Don't be shy asking strangers on the street you see sporting the look you want whom they see. I love it when a new request books in with me & tell me that they stopped someone walking by & asked for their stylist because they want their hair!

Peruse FB profiles for stylists in your local & check out their work. I know a ton of stylists whom use FB for advertising their art & connecting with potential clients whom like their style.

Thankyou. I've started "hair stalking" already and a friends girlfriend mentioned she was having her hair darken to this (opposite way round to what I'd need) but I'm going to check out what her hair looks like!
