So recently moved and went to a new hairdresser. I asked for the same tone but she ended up making my hair darker! The toner she used was by loreal dialight 9.13 I know because I asked to see her swatch book. I absolutely hate it, and it looks nothing like what we agreed on, it looks at least a shade darker because it seems orange to me, and the color makes my skin look red... She said it was a blue toner with a hint of gold... Well to me it looks orange, and definitely not as vibrant as well it was before. I came home crying the other day because a group of girls at school were making fun of my hair :(. Is there any way I can wash off this toner and just use a violet shampoo until I find a decent hairstylist In this area?

To be honest, it depends on whether it's a wash out toner or a permanent hair colour that was used as to whether it will fade quickly.

If you apply exactly the same shade of colour to the same section of hair on subsequent occasions, it will appear darker over time because the hair becomes more saturated with colour.

Next time, if you don't feel the outcome is what was agreed upon, you need to return to the salon and ask them to correct the colour.

Go back to the salon and get them to correct it. I know if I know a client isn't 100% happy with colour especially I would rather them come back for me to alter/correct the colour. The way I look at it is colour can always be corrected. I'm sure the stylist would much rather you admit your not happy rather than you try and correct it yourself and possibly make it worse. X
