hi. did a perm on wednesday, it nearly broke me, the rods would not stay in and kept slipping out and it took me nearly an hour to wind (short hair) and she has come back today and the back is rubbish so i am re-perming on wednesday.

now bear in mind ive got 19 years experience so im not a beginner

any tips please? its really stressing me out and now im dreading it. my senior stylist who is red hot on perms is on hols.....

hiya i hate perms lol did you use the right size of perm rods and did you use end papers xx

Slightly pre damp each section with perm lotion throught the back as you are winding. Helps the rods to stay in. Will need to be much quicker winding this way though!

HI THANKS I USED THE smallest rods in the salon. i always always use end papers and i only ever take 20mins to wind. OK so will re-damp each section with perm lotion thanks. Use same perm lotion (dulcia tonica orange) or go to a Resistant?

if its nasty springy hair that jumps out of the rods take nice slim sections and I would use the same perm lotion as it will be less resistant as its all ready been exposed to perm lotion. I'm not experienced in the Dulcia range of perms as I always used Goldwell biolife perms and they are very good for resistant hair. it'll be fine, don't worry.

If the hair springs out a lot put a fine hair net around after curlers, keep that on until you need to take them out on 2nd neutralising stage! Dulcia tonica o is very good on resistant hair!

I too would predampen with perm lotion...
although it doesnt help you this time ...maybe next time you could cut after your done the perm, that way it should be easier to wind and wont ping out of rollers so easy.
good luck
