Hiya,
just wondering if you could help me out here...
Im off to the enrollment evening for my nail art classes tonight and I've had it dropped on me that they have decided to extend the course to eight weeks to bring me in line with their other courses.
I now have to add an extra 2 classes onto my lesson plan when I arrive tonight.
I know I could 'drag stuff out' but I dont really want to do that.
Does anyone have any ideas of what you would like to see covered on a nail art course that maybe wasnt covered on a course that you have been on.
Or maybe an area where you thought more time should have been spent.
Im open to anything except work with l&p as some of my students wont have had the training.
Ta.

Hi, not sure if you do airbrushing yourself or if you have already included it into yr classes but if not how about getting someone in to do an airbrushing demo! Dont know if yr classes are for beginners but I bet the students would love to see how it's done if they are and it could encourage them to go further..just a thought :)

How about holding a competition on the last day?

The students can let thier imagination run wild and the winner could get a little present.

Perhaps you could have different catagories such as -

Best Marbling design
Best Striping Tool design
Best Portrait design
Best Abstract design

That way there would be more than one winner and more people would leave feeling good about themselves???

Just a thought.

Good luck with it.

Kx

I'd loved to have found out how to use clear tips for nail art when i did my spangles course.
I started a thread the other day about the really nice transparent tips i saw at Excel, but the colours were all a bit much for me!! I've bought some tips and am going to have a play myself, but I would loved to have been shown properly (if this is a traditional nail art technique?)

Hi, what have you planned to cover so far, maybe we can think of other ideas? x

Do you get the students to research outfits and design nail art to match? You could also expand this into some body art - hand designs, maybe Henna designs on the hand, nail art to blend with henna designs?

We cover;

RHINESTONES
DAZELLS
FLATSTONES
STUDS
PEARLS
STRIPING TAPE
GLITTER DUST
STAINED GLASS
TRANSFERS
COLOUR SHAPERS
MARBLE TOOL
FAN BRUSH
OPAL PAINTS
2-WAY NAIL ART PENS
FAN BRUSH
..................................AND LOTS MORE!

We hold a competition with a prize for the top 3. They have to design their own pricelist and consultation card for nail art, (not as easy as you think). We set some situations and they have to come up with a design, ie a christmas wedding, a 25th wedding anniversary party, a trip to ascot, a hen night, a sports company promotion etc. We give them magazine pictures of catwalk models and get them to match the outfit and if you have more time ask them to bring in a camera and have a go at some nail art photos and cover shots!

Got loads more info if you need it!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK! :)

Oh Chocolate......... I wish I lived closer. It sounds like a super course.
I have no knowledge of nail art so cannot add anything - I'm just dabbling at the moment but I'd love to go one one of your courses.
Unfortunately I'm over 500 miles from you!
Good Luck with whatever you do.

Thanx for all your help here guys, there's so many ideas here ... I could run another class by the side of this one. :D
Im definatetly going to incorporate some of this stuff and I really appreiciate your help.

Hello,
