Hey hun, hope I can be of some help. I'm on Lev 2, and I will be doing a fete, charging £9 for a mini 30min manicure. And I finish in June. Maybe you should charge a lil more? Best thing to do, is look at salons in your area, check their pricelists, every individual has a certain amount they are prepared to pay, you need to consider clients disposable income, plus you are travelling to them! So your technically working whilst driving, its your time your using to get to them, so maybe if you was to charge more that would be beared in mind. Oh and the type of products your using, if lower end then maybe charge for exactly what your using, but be cost effective and no wastage. I think your file and polish for £7.00 is a good idea, some clients particularly new ones may be nervous and want to pick a shorter treatment, even though it works out more expensive? Remember VAT has gone up so im sure £7.50 wouldn't shock a client, that's a big mac and coffee at McDs.... I'd be prepared to pay that. Hope i helped :/ xxxx

thank you for your quick reply. how much more do you think i could charge?

Hmm I hate to get it wrong, but I would say maybe if you added a note onto a pricelist like chinese takeaways do lol 2 miles outside whereever pound or two for petrol, so clients will have the choice to come to you, or cuz not everyone will be too far away. Gotta consider type of clients, don't charge too low though, I mean when I do my fete im charging like £9, maybe tell them if you charge this much it's an offer, if you don't want to charge anymore, I don't feel completely confident, so I'll say, oh were doing them cheaper, cuz they may think you will always charge that, and as you develop your skills n confidence, or add new products, and have a feel for the crowd your giving treatments to maybe then charge more. It is your choice I think though, lol I'm figuring out exactly what im going to charge. Going to make a pricelist tomorrow, itll be the first time I've ever charged outside college eek. xxx

yeah i'm going to have to research other places around me for prices, but there aren't that many. I just hope that once i finish college, i'm going to be able to find clients and not be sat around doing nothing!! which college are you at? x

Yeah same :/ even if though you ain't got client bookings, you could maybe volunteer, doing like treatments, I'll be going voluntary doing facials, peds, mans ect. Plus they don't always mind at short notice, so something just to keep you busy, with experience, and they may be able to reccommend you to family friends ect. Oh and sign up to anything you can, fill the diary with anything beauty related! I'll be glad though to get a bit of dosh from the fete... see me through the summer lol. I hate sitting around tooo, maybe you could do a short course in the summer, their pricey though, just something to keep you occupied. xxx

I deffo think as your mobile that I would keep to the prices you have figured out, they do seem right, just maybe have an additional mileage charge. Because I haven't been in the industry too long i'd hate to give you the wrong advice xxx

thanks! does anyone else want to give me some advise pleaaaasseeeeee!

you have to remember that you'll be qualified and so you can charge reasonable prices, similar to a salon. I'd look at prices of small salons/mobile therapists around you, but don't cut yourself too short! i'd definitely put your luxury mani/pedi up! i'd say £18 minimum but thats just an opinion, make sure it works for you!
