Hey guys,
So I've just bought an acrylic nails kit online.. and after a lot of research i still havent been able to answer some of my burning questions! Please help?

1. I'm worried about the quality of my acrylic nail powder/liquid.. ive read that some people get yellowing effects from it.. is this something to be worried about? Is there any brands you could recommend that would be available online? (ebay preferably)

2. I still can't figure out how to stick on the beads/jewels.. do you use the acrylic stuff? Or nail glue..? Or what?

3. I mostly see people using a gel over coat to finish off the nail.. but I dont want to do that yet as I dont think I want to purchase a uv lamp if im not sure that i want to do it.. Can I use a normal nail polish top coat for now?

Thanks guys! <3

Hi, I just had a look at your profile but can't see that you have any training in nails ? If that is correct then I'm afraid you won't get any help from here as its a professional only forum x

Only advice you will get is to go and do some proper training, like we all did lol ;)

Good Luck.

Sorry I'm really new.. as in 1 hour new.. I'm just trying to find out a couple of small questions..
Is this not consumer queries? Not a salon professional (or an aspiring one) but in need of professional advice?

The type of professional advice like:

I got my nails done yesterday and my skin has broken out in red blisters , what should I do?

or

Are acrylic nails stronger than gel as I want to get some nails done?

..and we would answer!

Not 'how do I do nails with an over the counter kit'.

We have all invested in our training and pay Insurance etc to do what we do, therefore we would not pass on our knowledge to someone not prepared to do the same.

This is a great site, and we all need to start somewhere in the Nail Industry, a lot of geek started with a OTC kit like yours, and made such a mess of it they went and got trained

Great nails come from great training.

I hope this helps.

Ooh.. Okay! Sorry! Misunderstood! Sorry!
Thanks anyway. I'll figure it out for myself, and if I can't, I'll either get them done professionally again or look into getting some actual training.. which I wouldn't mind doing.. even if I can figure it out..
Anyway
All the best for the future and your careers!

No problem....and if you do decide to train in nails you will find this site invaluable!!

Maybe see you back here sometime
