Hi all, I'm just wondering if somebody could help me out with a quick question.
I needed to buy a new beauty bed/couch, and I saw one on eBay and went ahead and ordered it earlier, unfortunately I thought I was signed on but it was my partners account, I'm now worried I won't be able to use the invoice/receipt against my business as it's in his name.

I've searched the internet and here for the answer but can't seem to find it anywhere, just thought maybe one of you would know rather than me cancelling the order and buying it again.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

I have ordered things from my personal account for my business then paid to my personal account out of my business account. If tht makes sense lol. But i printed off them receipts n put them with the rest!!!

Thanks for your reply, I know what you mean Hun, done that a few times myself.
I tried to cancel my order last night but it was too late so I'm just going to risk it, and transfer money to my partners account and highlight this on my next statement so it matches the receipt and hope that's good enough if I'm ever audited!

It makes no odds really which account pays for things. As long as it's documented and you have the receipts, that's all the Revenue cares about on that score.

Thanks for your reply, after working in admin for years I keep a thorough bookkeeping system. That should suffice.

I have a separate business account and I do occasionally pay for things for my business on my personal bank card. I just put the receipt in with my books and note it as 'paid for in cash' and take the cash out of my business. If it's a large amount I can always transfer the money from my business account to my personal account.

It makes no difference as the receipt goes in my books as a business expense. It's just that the money goes to me to reimburse my private account.

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated.
I'm such a worrier at times haha.
