Heya. I do OPI Gelcolour.. I currently use a unbranded make UV lamp to cure my nails & it works fine BUT its bulky..
Ive seen a really cute small LED mini Gellux curing lamp for around £49. Would this lamp be ok to use?
Obv OPI would look professional etc.. But atm i cant afford it.

I was told not to 'mix' brands as it doesnt work but ive had absolutely no problems with an unbranded UV light.

I feel maybe im being told this to spend the money for the OPI brand.

Any help or advice please

You run the risk of a life long allergy to nail enhancements if your OPI isn't being properly cured by your current lamp or the new one. Just because it feels hard to the touch isn't an indicator of a full cure.

OPI is a professional brand and you shouldn't really be using it without the correct training and using a lamp that was designed specifically for that product.

I am fully trained to use OPI Gelcolor.
I was just curious if companies just said you needed their equipment to "make money" or if it was because you genuinly needed to use that same brand equipment.
On training i did say i have a UV lamp and we were taught the curing times of UV and LED and the trainer made no further comment about other brands, thats why i was unsure

Just wanted to check before i purchased something if i didnt need it.

Email opi and ask. That way you have it in writting if they say it's ok. I did similar with nsi :) x

That's a sensible idea. Im really stressing for no reason haha. And having it in writing i can use as a back up.

Thanks for your help :)
