I hope someone will be able to help me here!!! I purchased a spray tanning machine (maximist HVLP). Everytime I do a spray tan the solutions seems to just run down my client, i have tried adjusting all the different settings and tried spraying it for a while to warm it up but still no joy. I am hoping I am doing something wrong and can be advised on how to stop this as it is a complete nightmare and very embarrassing as I have to rub most of the tan in once dry!! Please help I have a spray tan to do on Friday and I'm dreading this.:Scared::!:

If you have already checked the volume of spray are you spraying too close to the client maybe?

How are you spraying? Are you going over the same part of the body twice?
Have you cleaned out your gun too? The needle etc?

Ok, start at the very begining.
Turn the dial at the back of the gun all the way of.
Now get some couch roll tape it to your bathroom wall (less mess) and turn the dial very slightly on, hold the gun about 20cm away from the couch roll and spray it.
What you want is to have tan on the first ply but none on the back of the second ply. Keep turning your dial slightly more open until this happens. You will go through a few sheets of couch roll getting it right but once you have it right, get some nail polish and put a dot at the top above the dial and put a line under that dot. That way your gun will be easy to set to the right place if it gets knocked out of line.
Now you know your gun is set right for a 20cm distance make sure when you spray a client that you keep to that distance.
Next the client:twisted: between tans, the days before the first tan, they should moisturise. The night before the tan, they should exfoliate all over, no moisturisor, no dove or dove type body wash. Wash back after conditioning and rinsing conditioned hair.
One coat at 20 cm distance should be all that's needed, once done get client to slowly turn so you can check you havent missed any bits.
You should use about 30 -35mls of solution per tan. You should find you have very little over spray.
Hope this has helped xx

to be honest hun I would wait until you have your training and then your trainer can show you the correct way to set up your machine and how to adjust if need be???
