I did a clients infills last wednesday, (nail biter) she came to me today to say that one of her nails has cracked. Its the thumb and it has cracked horizontally from the sidewall inbetween zone 2 & 3 halfway accross her nail. Hope that makes sense. I have never come accross this before. I dont think it was because of the infill as I infilled higher to the crack on her nail. I asked if she had maybe banged it or even something hard had fallen on her nail, but she said no. Just wondered if anyone else has come accross this or if it was because of something I had done.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a normal cracked nail ... caused by the client banging it ... whether she remembers it or not. Or wants to remember it or not.

Sometimes when an enhancement is hit straight on it can crack like that and you are hardly aware you have done it ... I'm sure we have all cracked a nail like that. I certainly have.

She's trying for a free repair ... which I would not do. I'm like the china shop .. "all breakages must be paid for" and it states that on the client record card that they all sign.

Hi SarahLou

As Gigi said, sound like she has banged or knocked her nail. Cracks just don't appear :suprised:

Charge her for the breakage, bet you any money she won't suffer with cracked nails again!! :D :D :D
