Iv been asked to do a couple of new clients and the old stylist has sent them with the formulas they have . Although I will advise differently if I think it’s needed .. one of the clients has 5/0 on roots with 10vol we don’t have 10 vol in UK with Wella and she has slight grey . ( I will prob use colour touch ) just wondering do many of you use kp with 10vol ??? If so what results do you get ? Thanks

I only ever use 10vol when depositing colour onto grey unless I was lifting it I would use a higher vol.
We do have 10vol in the UK this is 3%

Thank you , yeah I have used 3% for gentle lifting with bleach but no Welloxn 3% so wasn’t sure ? Il give it a try and just use the wholesalers own 3% thank you . And the client does have grey so prob explains it although I always use 6%

Weloxon Pastel developer is 2.9%, so maybe she used pastel? This would give pure deposit for koleston perfect shades.

I would never use KP with 10vol it’s dense enough I think! You could use 4% CT lotion if you want to use a Wella approved peroxide

Thanks guys, would the mix ratio be 1:2 on pastel or ct emulsion still ? Will I still get the grey coverage ? Or does it make it more of a demi colour ? X

Yes mixing 1:2 is recommended, but I never ue this for grey coverage?. I'd just tell the client that the formula isn't what you'd normally recommend, but you'll do it under the previous stylists recommendation. If it doesn't work this will then allow you to do your own formula. How grey is the client?
