Hi all,

I am looking at having my highlights (roots) done at my local hairdressers after highlighting it orginally myself at home ( I know big mistake) and I have noticed my hair is very stretchy and porus when wet and I have had a bit a breakage on the ends. Would it be advisable to have a tint more of my natural colour to cover the highlights and just leave my hair to grow out or should I risk having the highlights. Im not sure what is more damaging to my already damaged hair and would like a bit of advice before I book my appointment with my hairdresser. Is there any salon treatments that will improve the condition of my hair?

many thanks :)

You need to use protein treatments to give your hair inner strength and if your hair is damaged the salon may not wish to colour it if their is a risk it will snap off! I would say go for pureology shampoo, conditioner and treatment, one of the other geeks have a website you can purchase pureology from google indigo hair

bluerinse has gave good advice , it does sound like you have over processed your hair .. its not good if its like a sponge when wet :Scared:

Welcome - Indigo Hair & Beauty for pureology.
Best thing is to book a consultation at a salon to see if they can fix your colour. It is amazing what a good colourist can acheive.

thanks for the advice guys - booked in to have my hair cut tomorrowto get rid of the ends that are breaking (its where its the worst :( ) goin to have a treatment tomorrow as well and let them have a proper look - will not be bleaching my own hair again!
