Hole in nail through to bed, help! Best way to protect this?

Evening! I have managed to nick a whole through my nail right to the nail bed-very sore!! Right in the middle aswell :-/ what do we think would be best solution? It is stinging and tightens when liquids come into contact. At college doing level 2 nail tech so lots of remover etc being used ouch ouch ouch!! Appreciate suggestions as it throbs so bad my mind is fuddled, thanks!

Personally I'd ensure the nail was dehydrated and prepped correctly and silk wrap it, I'd rather protect what's left and allow to heal, I think it's more at risk of infection if its left. Xx
