Hello my Name is Engo and i'm new in this Community.

I'm renting a chair in a Barbershop with a 50/50 percentage. Now my first question is, is the shop owner authorized to tell me how many holidays or vacationes i can take in a year ? My "boss" thinks he has the right to do this but i think this is not fair if i'm self-employed.
And the second question is, i do many extras in the shop, welcome all the clients, take all of the phone calls and respond the messages, make all purchases and check-outs with the clients and so on. Do i have the right to desire a fix monthly payment for all these extra works ?
Thanks for the responds !!

As you live in Switzerland, you'd be better off asking for advice locally from a citizens advice centre or equivalent as the rules might be quite different there.

In the U.K., guidance is provided from the government department responsible for tax collection. See link below.

As you can see, if you're self employed, you are viewed as a separate business to the salon and therefore, the salon owner cannot dictate how you run your business, inc. what prices to charge, products to use, days and hours of work and when you take your holidays.

Also, if you were in the U.K., I would advise you to stop acting as a part-time receptionist for the salon owner as that would be viewed as blurring the line between self employment and being fully employed and could cause problems for both of you with the tax department.

Hope this helps?

Thank you very much for your help haircutz.
In Switzerland it's not normal to rent a chair so nobody can tell me how does it work, so i'm very thankfull for every advice.
