My teenage daughter who already coloured her hair with a permanent blonde ( she is already blonde but went lighter) decided she wanted
To go Brown, so used a 28 wash chocolate brown on her hair ( yes I told her not to but being nearly 14 she knows better )
Well it didn't go the colour she
Wanted, it kinda brown/ginger and now she wants her blonde hair back, what can she do ? Wait for the 28 wash one to fade or use a stripping kit or can she colour on top ?

Go to a hairdresser before all her her falls out. I suspect if you try to colour it again at home it will go wrong again, as its not as simple a putting one colour on top of another. You have to pre pig the hair first. A hairdresser will know how to do this. And if you put home bleach on top of whats already on in might snap.

Hopefully, lesson learned. Wait for it to fade and use cheap clarifying supermarket shampoo/baby shampoo to wash it as this will fade it more quickly.

She's too young to have any chemical processes carried out at a hairdressers as insurance companies will not cover chemical treatments for under 16's. If a hairdresser offers to try, especially without carrying out skin and hair tests, AVOID!

Also, following the introduction of new legislation last year, home hair dye kits are not meant to be sold to under 16's either, but it's not actually illegal.

It's important that she understands that box dyes contain strong chemicals and can cause serious harm if an allergic reaction occurs. Did she carry out a skin test first as the instructions advise?

See article below:
BBC News - Julie McCabe in coma after 'hair dye allergic reaction'

It's one thing for an adult to purchase home dye kits to go a darker shade to cover a few grey hairs, but colour correction is an expensive business that requires expert knowledge. Please take care!
