hey guys and gals im gatecrashing from beauty so feel free to move this if you think it needs to be elsewhere.

i am naturally a very dark brown hair colour but afew months ago i had a full head of highlights as i wanted to go blonde,2 weeks later i had to have it redone as my roots were awful and even after that it still looked like she hadnt gone right to the root so i constantly had these awful dark roots, anyways the upkeep was ridiculous so i decided to go back to my natural colour.

When the hairdresser dyed it i was left with a dark reddy tone which i specifically said i didnt want to my hair which i hated so i ended up buying some casting creme gloss and doing it myself (i know you dont advise diy but i was dsperate and had already paid this hairdresser a fortune), turned out ok but now as its fading i have natural colour roots but the length of my hair has gone lighter and in certain lights has this weird murky green tinge to it that looks disgusting.

Anyhow i have decided that from the start i wanted a change from my natural colour but maybe the blonde was too high maintenance so i have decided i like this colour http://www.mynewhair.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/simpson-red-hair.jpg

Do you think this would be easier to do and maintain, i am willing to pay a professional to do it but i wanted your opinions first before i spend all this money again and what would you describe this colour as?

Sorry for the long post, hope its not too confusing :) thanks for reading xx

firt off *slap on the wrist* tut tut colouring it yourself, you now see why it cazn go horribly wrong as u have a murky hair colour, yes? now thats over and done with here comes the real fun.

The colour you like is lovely, however because you have had highlights, then darkened (to which i may add a reddy brown and the pic is a fair reddy/coppery brown???) and then tinted yourself, you will DEFO have to go to a proffessional, depending on your hairs condition and also the colour build up you have produced in your hair it may need stripped back out before you can go this shade. really cant say more than that without gettin my hands in your barnett. . .

thank you for your help, my hair doesnt seem to be too damaged yet thank goodness, it was actually a bit green in places before i touched it lol and i think its just going that colour because the bleach is coming through, however im no professional when it comes to hair so might just be making that up :) but all i know was when i coloured it myself i loved the dark colour but it has gradually faded leaving it the awful colour. if anyone does hair in the south east i would be grateful to hear from you because at least i know you are all reliable! After this fiasco i have become a bit more wary of hairdressers as this particular one didnt seem to follow what i asked for. But i know there are so many great hairdressers, i just wish i could find one! i forgot to write in the first post that when i had the blonde done within afew days it went a ginger colour  i just want my barnet sorted now!!xx
