About a year ago I bleached my hair to an ashy platinum blonde. Since then I have tried to go darker and regularly have lowlights put through my hair. My hair does not hold colour very well due to being very porous and washes out very quickly. My natural colour is about a 7. My hair dresser says that it is an A but I think I can see a mix of warm and cool tones. She recently coloured my hair using a 7NW and an 11N. This to me looks very streaky and unnatural. What can I ask her to put through to create a natural softer blonde? I was thinking a 8 and 9 N but would this clash too much with the rest of the hair? Should this just be a root touch up or pulled through my entire head?

This is the beauty of paying a hairdresser is they make all those decisions for you.

Oh dear, this is the difference between a so so hairdresser and an excellent one who doesn't give you stripy hair!

Find a new hairdresser through personal recommendation is my advice.

Thanks for your help Haircutz. I usually ask her as she's a friend of a friend but I think I might have a look and see if I can find anywhere else.

I had this many years ago. My husband thought I'd had a grey streak put in my dark hair. It looked ridiculous when I tied it back and my naughty daughters laughed at me then told me I had to do something. I chucked a box colour over it which was a means to an end and now go to a lovely girl who does amazing, fine highlights, low lights and spends a lot of time making my hair look great!

Good luck x
